Ben went surfing yesterday after work, while I stayed home and finished up some of my work on the computer. When he came home, he surprised me with someone's car (that he borrowed - can't wait to have our own car again haha), so we could go out on a quick date to get some cinnamon pretzels at Sam's Club (I was craving them all day).
When we got to The Club, as I like to call it, they didn't have any cinnamon pretzels ready because they were getting ready to close, but they were nice enough to make us some special. :) Then we came home and snuggled in bed while we watched Clue the movie. It was a great night. :)

Okay Ben and I are going crazy over here waiting to see if we got into BYU-Hawaii!!! We are supposed to hear back within four weeks of the application deadline, which was July 1st, which makes four weeks later July 29th. So we should know in two days or less. We're freaking out. We really want to go.
In the meantime, I've been going through the pictures on my phone and creating a photo book of when I lived in Hawaii! It's been fun to see all the pictures again, although it is certainly not taking my mind off of our application statuses. ;) I'm sitting in bed next to my sweet, sleeping, snoring husband, and thinking about the next few months. We're coming to the end of our time in New York, and we both are really missing Idaho! It was our home for the first eight months of marriage, and now we want to go home to it. I'll be so happy to be there for the last bit of Summer and for Fall.
We're waiting to hear back about if we got into BYU-Hawaii (fingers crossed), and if we do, we'll start there in January. So I'm looking forward to August, September, October, November, and December in Idaho Falls. I really love Idaho Falls. I love the temple down the street, and the giant trees in our neighborhood that turn red and orange and yellow in September, and I love our house, and everything we've done to it to make it ours, and I love our furniture, and I love the smell of the air there. IF will always have a special place in our hearts. :) I'm thinking about how this Christmas, it will be a whole year since last Christmas, and last Christmas seems like just a bit ago. And we're almost to our 11 month anniversary! Which means we've almost been married for a year! A year goes by fast. And we still like each other. ;) I'd say we like each other even more. This morning, Ben woke me up with what, in this household, we call a "hearty farty". ;) Basically he woke me up (from a deep sleep, I might add) with a super loud fart. But it was actually great because I was having a bad dream. Once again, my wonderful husband saves the day. :) It's just funny that this time it was with a fart. ;) Hahaha Love you, Babe :)
R Ben and I have been so busy!
Ben is busy selling like normal, and he did great yesterday. I'm filling in for the coordinator for our team for the next three weeks, and it's been a lot to learn. I finally feel like I have a good handle on it all. Hopefully I will get faster and the work days will get shorter. :) Ben and I are planning a Disneyland trip for later this year and I'm so excited. :) Last night, Ben knew that I was stressed and tired from working all day, so he lit a bunch of candles in the bathroom and had me start filling the tub (he knows I like doing it a certain way) so I could take a hot bubble bath. :) Then we fell asleep to Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Last night I asked in my prayer for God to help me wake up with energy and to help me to get out of bed right after I wake up (falling back asleep is a weakness of mine), and this morning, I woke up earlier than I usually do, and I even had time to make Ben breakfast before he woke up. :) It's been a good start to the day. We were looking through our wedding photos to decide which ones we should post to Facebook (finally) (I've been trying to get Ben to do this with me for months now) ;) and I just fell in love all over again. I love the one of him at the beach with his eyes all squinty in the sun. AH! I LOVE HIM! Today Ben and I went with another couple (Arch and Tessa) to an outlet mall about 20 minutes away. These are the best outlets I've ever been to! They have pretty much every store you can think of, and everything's on sale. I love it there. It was really nice of Ben to take me because he doesn't like shopping as much as I do. ;)
He did get to go to the Nike outlet, however, and use the Nike giftcard he got for selling a certain amount last month. He got some nice new shoes and some much needed socks. :) After that, the four of us went to TGI Friday's for dinner. We told funny dating stories, and even funnier prom stories, and then we went and got milkshakes from McDonalds. Then we ended the night with an episode of Stranger Things. It was a great Saturday. Thanks for taking me out, Ben. :) R The past few days have been so busy! Keara and I have been training to do the coordinating/entering contracts for our Vantage branch, which we'll be in charge of for the next three weeks. It's kinda stressful! There's a lot that's going to be in our hands, so a lot of our time this week has gone into learning (and worrying about) the system. ;) Grocery shopping yesterday was an all-day ordeal with Keara and Tessa, and it was a ton of fun. Except for the part where we realized Keara had accidentally left her car keys at Old Navy and we thought someone had stolen the car! But she found the keys, and all was well. What am I going to do when we're home from the summer and grocery shopping doesn't mean a fun day out with friends anymore? :) Wednesday was Alexis' birthday (she's my best friend from college). She's serving a mission in Paris right now, so I sent her an email with a bunch of pictures of us in Hawaii together! It made me really miss her, and the beach, and Hawaii, and the palm trees, and the green mountains, and even our dorm room haha. We had a lot of fun! I miss her. Ben and I could hear back from BYU-Hawaii any day now, so every time I see an email in my inbox, my heart skips a beat. We really want to go. It seems like everything is falling into place for it, so we're pretty sure it's the right option. But there's just that tiny detail that we need to get into the school haha. :) Sierra (Ben's sister) got her mission call!!!
As the family over in California was getting together at Ben's Grandparents' house to watch her open it, and all the video calls were being organized, Ben and I signed off our video call to eat dinner real quick. Ben said a prayer before we ate, and in it he asked God to help Sierra to be happy and at peace with her call, and to know that it is right, and also to be just a little bit nervous. ;) (He said it with a smirk - it was the most adorable older-brother-y thing ever.) So after we ate, we got back on the video chat and soon it was time for her to open her call! And her call was to................ ARKANSAS, LITTLE ROCK MISSION! Woohoo!! Congratulations Sierra! We are so excited for you! And if you're a little bit nervous you can totally blame it on Ben ;) R |
