To celebrate nine whole months of marriage, Ben and I went to the city yesterday to go to the temple. :) We had to really finagle our schedules because the latest session was at 5, and Ben usually works until 3 on Saturdays. So I rode the train to Massapequa Park, where I met up with Ben and we rode to Penn Station. Then we took the Subway to 66th, and when we came out from underground the temple was right there in front of us. :) It was beautiful! It felt like home. :) After our session, we walked around trying to figure out a place for dinner, and finally settled on Olive Garden in Times Square. Ben made reservations while we walked over so we only had to wait a few minutes once we got there, and then we were seated by a window looking out onto Times Square! It was wonderful :) And then we walked around a bit and caught the train back home from Penn Station, and ended the night with more Aloe and an episode of Friends. :) Happy 9 months, Ben! R

I am a lobster. A tomato. A salmon fillet.
A strawberry. A pink starburst. A red starburst. That's how sunburned I am. Last night, Ben wanted me to snuggle up to him while we went to sleep and I told him to be careful because he might catch my sunburn. ;) He laughed, and told me to snuggle up anyway. Today, I had to refrain from scratching all day. I REALLY do not want to peel. I'm trying to stay aloe-d up and moisturized so I won't. I want it to turn into a lovely tan. I want to go from a salmon fillet to a fillet mignon ;) Goodnight, and WEAR SUNSCREEN R Today was a great day.
Ben got a surfboard and wetsuit, I laid out at the pool with a bunch of the other wives (and unfortunately got burned pretty bad haha), Ben beat his previous sales record for a day (WOOHOO!!!), I hung out with a few of the wives and we watched Call the Midwife (one of my all-time favorite shows) and ate chocolate chip cookies (my all-time favorite cookie), and then Ben rubbed aloe lotion all over my sunburns when he got home. Great day :) Tonight we went with a few other couples to Applebees because on Thursdays they have half-off appetizers! So we basically had appetizers for dinner :)
Ben and I got a few to share (soft pretzels and cheese sauce, sriracha shrimp, and chicken wings), and it was so fun! I loved trying a bunch of different things instead of just getting one main dish. I think this half-off apps Thursday might become a weekly thing for us. ;) Oh and for dessert we got a chocolate lava cake with ice cream because Ben wanted some ice cream and I wanted the cake. It was like a gourmet hostess cupcake that was piping hot which is basically my dream! YUM! And tomorrow Ben is getting a surfboard! I'm excited for him. Oh and let today go down in history as the day that I was converted to at-home spray tans! ;) R |
