I decided to start this blog as a sort of love letter to my family. Right now my family is just my husband and me, but we do plan to have children in the near(ish) future. We've been married for almost six months, and right now we're enjoying spending time with just each other. I wanted to have a place to document our days together, a place where we could look back and remember all the beautiful times we've had. I plan to write daily about the best parts of the day or what we did or what projects we're working on or what I'm thinking about or really just whatever I want to remember about that particular day in years to come.
These were my favorite things about today: 1. I've been re-reading Stephanie Nielson's "Heaven is Here" and loving it all over again. It inspires me to see the beauty in my life. 2. I stopped by the library on my way home. For some reason I love the library here. I think it's because when we first moved here in the Fall and I didn't have a job, but B was working, I would go to the library. For those first few weeks I checked out Gilmore Girls on DVD, because we hadn't gotten the WiFi set up in our house yet. I remember I could only check out two things at a time, which meant only about eight episodes of Gilmore Girls at a time. There was also a mysterious someone who was checking out the two Gilmore Girls DVD's that were just ahead of mine- if I had Season 2, discs 3 and 4, they had discs 5 and 6. It was infuriating because I would always finish my eight episodes and return the DVD's before they had! So I always had to wait for what felt like forever for whoever it was to return their DVD's. It was such a silly situation, but it was a big deal for a girl in a new town who's only friends were Rory and Lorelai Gilmore! 3. I loved walking into the kitchen to see the beautiful soft-violet tulips that B got me for Valentine's day. (Okay, I picked them out. I also picked out my Ferrero Rocher chocolates. But I actually like picking out my own gifts because some (my mother) might say that I'm very picky. ;) I also picked out my own engagement and wedding rings, but that's a story for another day.) Anyway, I love those tulips! They brighten up our kitchen and make Spring feel not so far away. 4. B texted me from work as soon as he got on his lunch saying, "come come come!" At first I thought there must be something horribly wrong because I am always jumping to the worst conclusions, but then he told me he just wanted to be with me (and he also wanted a burger). So I ran out to the car and drove through the rain to pick him up so we could get some food at McDonald's and spend the rest of his lunch together. It was nice. I was sad to drive back home by myself again. I can't wait to go pick him up. :) Until tomorrow, R
