I was a little nervous to tell B that I had started a blog. He's always so encouraging and kind, and he's even told me that he thinks I should, but I get shy and embarrassed about things like that.
My heart was beating pretty fast when I blurted out, "I started writing a blog". Next thing I knew, he was reading it and I had my back turned, getting dinner ready so I didn't have to watch. When he was finished, he came over to me and hugged me and told me he thought it was great. I started crying (because, well, am I ever not crying?) but mostly because he is just so nice to me. He is always supportive and encouraging, which is one of my favorite things about him. I am learning that I never have to be embarrassed to tell him anything. He said he thought it was a wonderful thing to do, then asked, "Every day?" and I told him yes. Every day. There are a few reasons I want to write every day: 1. It gives me a chance to sit and reflect on the day, and to look for the beauty in it, which I normally wouldn't really do. 2. I like writing. Just not essays. I hate writing essays. 3. When B and I first got engaged, I made a commitment to God to read my scriptures and pray every single day. Then when we got married, we kept it up together. We have prayed and read in the scriptures together every single day since we've been married. It has brought us closer together and we have without a doubt been blessed because of it. What I've learned from it, though, is that it is way easier to do something every day than it is to just do it when you feel like it. Maybe because it forms a habit? Or maybe because it's more of a commitment. Either way, it motivates me, and the only way I can see myself actually sticking with this blog is if I do it every single day. In other news, I think Dean is by far the best Gilmore Girls boyfriend. Anyone who disagrees with me better have full evidence to back it up, because I will not be easily swayed. Xoxo, R
